Sosnovsky: “Khizhnyak’s tendon on his left arm came off, he has already undergone surgery”

The head coach of the Ukrainian boxing team, Dmitry Sosnovsky, said that the silver medalist of the 2020 Olympic Games Alexander Khizhnyak underwent surgery on his hand.

“Alexander prepared for the Olympic Games according to an individual plan. He was supposed to participate in the tournament in Hungary, which is currently taking place, but was injured. A tendon in his left arm was torn off. He has already been operated on. The operation was successful, and we still have enough time before the Olympics.

He will recover and prepare for the Olympic Games on an individual schedule. First there will be recovery, then rehabilitation, and then a training camp. Alexander is an experienced boxer and during this time we will have time to restore him. He will perform successfully at the Olympic Games,” Sosnowski said.

Let us remind you that the Summer Olympic Games in Paris (France) will be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
