UFC heavyweight champion John Jones reported that he recently underwent a second operation in several months.
According to the American, surgery was required on his elbow, so this will not affect the timing of his return to the Octagon.
“The good news is the healing process will take about ten weeks. So after my chest surgery I will still be out for a few months. So I thought that I would kill two birds with one stone and get rid of two problems once and for all.
I'm back on the road to recovery. Sometimes you need to take a small step back to keep moving forward. I’m patient,” Jones said on Instagram.
Let us remember that on November 12 at the UFC 295 tournament, Jones was supposed to defend his title against Stipe Miocic, but several weeks before the fight he dropped out due to a torn pectoral muscle.
