Page proposed introducing fines for trash talk

Former Bellator title challenger Michael Page expressed the opinion that promotions should start fining fighters who go beyond what is permitted during the promotion of their fights.

“I hate what I see in combat sports. I don't like it when fighters talk about their fathers, wives, girlfriends and children. We need to get back to martial arts. I don’t respect people who cross the line.

Fines need to be introduced. Then fighters will wonder if they should use trash talk. It's like a yellow card in football. When it gets that personal, real trouble can happen, and that falls back on the UFC's shoulders,” Page said on The MMA Hour.

Let us remind you that Page recently joined the UFC. The Briton will make his debut in the organization on March 9 at UFC 299, and his opponent will be Kevin Holland.
