Sanchez: Benavidez didn't deserve to fight Alvarez

Experienced American coach Abel Sanchez expressed the opinion that the holder of the interim WBC super middleweight title David Benavidez did not earn the right to fight with the absolute champion of the division Saul Alvarez.

“Benavidez doesn’t deserve to fight. He must earn it, and by making loud statements he is only moving away from the fight.

Hopefully, Alvarez will fight Jaime Munguia in May, and Benavidez will fight Jermall Charlo. Obviously, the fight with Benavidez would have been bigger, but David didn’t deserve it.
