Blaydes and Almeida have a new fight date

Ranked UFC heavyweights Curtis Blades And Gailton Almeida will still meet in the Octagon.

The fight between the American and the Brazilian was supposed to take place on November 4 at the UFC Fight Night 231 tournament in Sao Paulo, but the American dropped out due to a leg injury. Almeida ended up fighting Derrick Lewis, winning by unanimous decision in an extremely dull fight.

Now the promotion has decided to pit Blaydes against Almeida in a three-round fight on March 9 at UFC 299, which is expected to take place in Miami.

Let us remember that Almeida is on a 15-match winning streak, six of which were won under the auspices of the leading promotion. As for Blaydes, he lost by knockout in the first round to Sergei Pavlovich in March - the failure interrupted a streak of three victories.
