Wilder's trainer: 'Referee needs to keep a close eye on Parker'

Trainer of former world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder Malik Scott on the eve of his fight with Joseph Parker appealed to the referee to closely monitor the New Zealander’s condition.

“I ask the referee to make sure he is keeping a close eye on Joseph Parker. This applies to all of Wilder's opponents, but especially to guys like Joseph, who is now at the end of his career.

A young guy can catch a punch because he has a whole career ahead of him, but referees should be more attentive to older fighters who have already caught punches and have been through tough fights. Don’t let guys be in the ring any longer than they have to, because Deontay is a killer,” Scott was quoted as saying by Boxing Scene.

Let us remind you that the fight between Wilder and Parker will take place on December 23 in Riyadh.
