Steve Garcia (born Estevan Garcia Jr. on May 22, 1992, in Albuquerque, New Mexico) is an American mixed martial artist competing in the UFC’s featherweight division. Known as “Mean Machine,” he began training in MMA at age 15, studying under Greg Jackson at a satellite gym before advancing his development at Jackson-Wink MMA, where he refined his striking and grappling skills .
Professional Career
Garcia made his professional debut in 2013, fighting in promotions such as Bellator. After building his record with decisive finishes, he earned a place on Dana White’s Contender Series in August 2019, securing a contract with a first-round TKO and moving to the UFC.
He debuted in the UFC in February 2020 on short notice and, despite a debut loss, quickly established a reputation for stoppage victories. Between 2021 and 2024, Garcia achieved multiple Performance of the Night bonuses and recorded a streak of five consecutive knockout or technical knockout wins.
