At the boxing evening in Fairfax, the bout of the former Russian Olympian Matt Korobov against Immanuwel Aleem was scored by the judges as a draw: twice 95-95 and 97-93 in favor of Korobov. Initially, the result of the battle was announced as the victory of Korobov by a majority decision, but later a representative of Virginia State Athletic Commission stated that this happened because of an error in the calculations.
Matt Korobov is displeased with the judges’ decision in his fight with WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo. The fight took place on December 22, Matt was a late replacement one week before the match and lost by unanimous decision (119-108, 116-112, 116-112).
Mike Borao, the manager of the former world title contender Matt Korobov, shared his impressions of his ward’s performance in a fight against Jermell Charlo, and also said that after such a bout, there would be more great opportunities for Korobov.
Jermall Charlo (28-0, 21 KOs) defeated Matt Korobov (28-2, 14 KOs) by unanimous decision at a boxing event in Brooklyn, New York. At the end of twelve rounds, the judges counted it 119-109 and twice 116-112 in favor of the American.
