DeivesonFigueredo, former UFC flyweight champion, has stated his desire to fight former UFC lightweight champion Dominick Cruz. Deiveson wants to fight Dominick at UFC 303, which takes place June 29 in Las Vegas.
"People are calling a lot of names, but what I really want is to fulfill my dream of fighting Dominick Cruz. Hopefully that fight will happen. It would be awesome to come back together with McGregor in June. It all depends on Dominick Cruz, the main thing is that he signs a contract. I really want to fight him. I'm going to keep talking about Cruz because of his popularity, because of the history he has in the organization. He's the guy that can lead me to a title fight," stated Figueredo.
Former UFC lightweight champion Deiveson Figueredo spoke about his future goals after an early victory over former lightweight titleholder Cody Garbrandt.
Recall that last weekend at the UFC 300 event in Las Vegas, USA, Figueredo "choked" Garbrandt in the second round.
"I defeated a serious fighter with a very big name, and it just shows what a new chapter in my career is going to be. I'm a former champion at another weight, I've won in this division and I want to fight for the belt. The fact that I fought Moreno for the title last time was a mistake in my opinion, so I believe I deserve the opportunity to face the champion now.
One hundred percent, I'm ready to fight again, whether it's O'Malley, Dvalishvili or anyone else. Whoever Dana puts up, I will fight him," Figueredo was quoted as saying by MMA MAnia.
