Interim WBC Middleweight Champion Carlos Adames (23-1, 18 KOs) stopped former unified champion Julian "J-Rock" Williams (28-4-1, 16 KOs) in the ninth round in the main event at the Armory Arena in Minneapolis. Adames actively led the fight and achieved a rather premature referee stoppage at 2:45 in the ninth round, much to the displeasure of the Williams team. At the time of the stoppage, Adames was leading on all three judges' cards: 80-72, 78-74 and 77-74. According to CompuBox statistics, the opponents landed roughly the same number of punches.

WBO World Middleweight Champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (13-0, 8 KOs) is looking for big names in his weight limit. The new face of this division has recently become Jarrett Hurd (24-2, 16 KOs), former unified lighterweight champion.

In a spectacular and action-packed WBC middleweight eliminator Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-4, 10 KOs) lost by majority decision to Carlos Adames (21-1, 16 KOs) on Davis vs Cruz undercard at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The judges scored the bout 95-95 and 97-93, 96-94 in favor of Adames.

Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Sergey Derevyanchenko and Carlos Adams face off in a middleweight battle, with the winner moving forward to a potential title fight in 2022. The meeting will be part of the Showtime pay-to-air undercard, which will feature a bout between Jervonte Davis and Isaac Cruz in the main event.

The undercard for the December 5 boxing night in Los Angeles has been announced. The main event will be a bout between Gervonta Davis (25-0, 15 KOs) and Isaac Cruz (22-1-1, 15 KOs). At stake in the meeting will be the "regular" WBA lightweight championship belt.
