Merab Dvalishvili says the nose injury he suffered in training in early April was the latest chapter in a problem that has followed him for years.
Speaking in an interview with the YouTube channel Mighty, Dvalishvili explained that he first broke his nose back in 2014 during his official professional debut.
“The first time I broke my nose was in 2014, when I officially made my professional debut. The guy hit me with a jab — the first punch — and broke my nose. Since then, it’s been broken. But it was strong. I had a lot of cuts, but the bone was fine.
I broke the bone because of my teammate, his name is Adam, he’s a professional fighter. He knows my style well, he has good timing, and every time we spar, he catches me, but he hits me in the chest or forehead. This time, though, he hit me in the nose with a knee and broke the bone,” Dvalishvili said.
