UFC CEO Dana White summed up the confrontation between Justin Gaethje and Paddy Pimblett.
“At the weigh-in, Paddy said he would knock out Justin, and he didn't back down from that plan for the fight, even when he was dropped. I thought at some point he would start taking shots and try to finish the fight with a submission, but no—he didn't do that. Until today, I didn't know Paddy had such a chin. It was a real war—respect to both guys.
After the fight, we sent Paddy straight to the hospital, and we wanted to send Justin too, but he said he was fine. I don't think Paddy came out with the best game plan today, but he showed that he is tough and resilient—especially since he did it in a fight against Gaethje, taking his punches.”
