Cormier: "Right now, I would destroy everyone in the light heavyweight division"

Dmitriy Kel Jan. 2, 2026, 9 a.m.

Former UFC champion in two weight classes Daniel Cormier is confident that he would currently dominate the promotion's light heavyweight division if he were at the peak of his career.

"If I were in my prime in the light heavyweight division now, there would be no wrestlers. I would just destroy everyone. There are no wrestlers in the light heavyweight division. I would probably fight Pereira because he is the biggest star, and a champion wants to make as much money as possible. When I was fighting, the top five included me, Jones, Ryan Bader, Phil Davis, Rashad Evans — there were so many wrestlers," Cormier is quoted by Red Corner MMA.

Let us remind you that Cormier retired in 2020.
