Former UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley shared his prediction for the title rematch in his division between Merab Dvalishvili and Petr Yan, which will take place on the night of December 7 at UFC 323 in Las Vegas.
“Who will win? I see only one scenario for Petr's victory. If Merab fights standing and believes too much in his punches, then Petr will have a chance. Merab almost knocked out Cory Sandhagen, so he's becoming more confident in his punches. But you have to be very careful with Petr. If you keep your chin high, Petr will use that. He's very good at counter-punching, he's quick and accurate. Yan has very high-quality defensive stance, so he's ready to exchange blows.
But I'm betting on Merab. I think he's even smarter in the octagon than in life. That's why he's the champion,” O'Malley said in an interview with Ariel Helwani.
