Makhachev does not consider Rakhmonov a contender for the title fight

Islam Makhachev, UFC welterweight champion, commented on Shavkat Rakhmonov's contender prospects.

“He hasn't fought for a year. A contender can't spend a year recovering from injuries and then immediately go for the title fight. Well, if he recovers and the UFC decides he's next, then why not?”
