WBC light heavyweight champion David Benavidez believes that in the future he can fight against WBA, WBO, and IBF titleholder Dmitry Bivol.
âItâs difficult to negotiate with Canelo, but I donât rule out our fight. I think Dmitry Bivol is more of a man of his word than Canelo. If our fight is scheduled again, then I am sure it will happen. But I donât want to rush him too much because he had back surgery, and he had two great fights with Artur Beterbiev. So when Bivol is ready, Iâll be waiting for him right here.
Itâs great that we have many options. We have Beterbiev, Gilberto Ramirez. So for me, it doesnât matter. If Bivol fights someone else, then Iâd rather fight his best version, not one thatâs still injured. I donât want him to have excuses that he wasnât ready at one hundred percent. I want to beat all these fighters in their best condition, and thatâs exactly what Iâll do,â Benavidez told The Ring.
