Ariel Helwani, a well-known journalist and insider, stated that there is a widespread problem in the UFC — fighters are being offered to throw fights.
"I spoke to several people who told me that they were approached with such offers. They were asked if they were willing to throw a fight for money. This is a huge problem for the UFC. And at the same time, we've repeatedly seen strange outcomes that can't be explained otherwise. This happens in fights where fighters are paid little money, and they are offered good earnings that will solve their problems. Is the same happening with referees and judges? It's a subject for FBI investigation, but in my understanding — it is, and it's complete madness."
