Conor McGregor, a former UFC champion in two weight classes, announced that he is withdrawing his candidacy from the presidential election in Ireland.
“After careful consideration and consultations with my family, I am withdrawing my candidacy from the presidential race. This was not an easy decision, but at this moment it is the right one. Although I will not participate in this election, my commitment to Ireland does not end here. I will continue to serve my people, using an international platform to promote Irish interests abroad, strengthen our economic opportunities, and advocate for transparency and accountability in public life within the country,” wrote the Irishman on his social media.
