Cruz talked about what determines the ranking in the UFC

Dominick Cruz, former UFC champion in the bantamweight division, spoke about the rankings in the organization.

“In my experience, the ranking depends on your contract. Even if I lose the title and lose several fights in a row, I will still be given a place in the top-5. Because they pay me so much that they want to see me get beaten to death for that money,” Cruz said in an interview with Demetrius Johnson’s YouTube channel.
