Dan Hooker reported that he refused to insure the fight between Dustin Poirier and Max Holloway.
“UFC wanted me to be a backup. They wanted me to fight on the card with a lightweight. And I was to be the backup for the MBF title. An incredible opportunity. Unfortunately, I need a second operation on my hand, too much scar tissue... The operation is small, I just need to get rid of part of the scar tissue. There are nine weeks left until the fight, and everything has to come together perfectly to prepare,” said Hooker, as reported by Sky Sports New Zealand.
