Poirier was interested in the fight with Topuria

Dustin Poirier stated that he was interested in a fight with former featherweight champion Ilia Topuria after he moved up to lightweight.

“Was I offered a fight with Topuria? No. When he said he was moving up to 70 kg, I wrote to the UFC: ‘Hey, what’s up? Let me know what’s going on with this guy at 70 kg.’ But they didn’t pay attention to it. I was told that it wouldn’t happen,” Poirier is quoted as saying by MMAJunkie.
