Former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker shared his expectations for the upcoming fight between the promotion's current light heavyweight division titleholder Alex Pereira and Magomed Ankalaev.
The Brazilian and the Dagestani will meet in the main event of UFC 313, which takes place on the night of March 9 in Las Vegas, USA.
"I'm picking Pereira. Like I said, unless Ancalaev makes weight with him in the first 3 minutes, I don't think he's going to get out of the first round. You don't need to trade punches with him, period. He hits like a truck. He's very comfortable and confident standing up. So yeah, he needs to be put on his back in the first round.... Pereira brings a certain X element to the game," Whittaker said on his MMArcade podcast.
