UFC lightweight Rafael Fiziyev of Azerbaijan has reacted to the scheduling of a bout with former interim division champion Justin Gaethje of the United States at UFC 313 on March 8 in Las Vegas, USA.
Fisiew agreed 10 days before the show to replace Dan Hooker, who suffered a broken arm in training.
"When I see a perfect fight, I can't say no. I wish Hooker a speedy recovery. This fight against Gaethje is a real surprise for me. Short notice? It's not easy, it's a very big risk. But I like that risk. I've been fighting since I was 10 years old. It's my life. If I can't fight someone tomorrow, I can't call myself a fighter today. I have to be ready to fight any opponent at any time," Fiziev said in an interview with DAZN.
Recall that in March 2023, Fiziev lost to Gatji on points.
