Cruz announced the end of his career

"To fans around the world - I have given my all to this sport over the last 25 years and was really hoping for one final fight. But unfortunately two dislocated shoulders in the last eight months have put an end to my career. I gave everything I had and put it into preparing for the fight, but sometimes the body just doesn't listen. The pain isn't as bad now that my shoulder has been repaired, but the second dislocation was much more difficult than the first. This sport has become everything to me - it has helped shape me and become who I am."
