Cormier has picked up an opponent for Chimaev

American mixed martial arts veteran, expert and commentator Daniel Cormier believes undefeated UFC middleweight prospect Hamzat Chimaev should be next in line for a title fight.

"Chimaev was considered a future UFC champion since 2021. However, now 2024 is over and Hamzat still hasn't gotten the opportunity to become champion. I think Chimaev should get the winner of the Du Plessis - Strickland fight. I don't need any other Chimaev fights, I don't need to see Hamzat beating anyone. I saw his fight with Whittaker - I've seen enough. When you do that to Whittaker, I don't have any more questions. I want to see Chimaev's title fight. You don't have to give Hamzat Bo Nickal, you don't have to rush," Cormier said on the Good Guy/Bad Guy podcast.
