Aljamain Sterling, former UFC lightweight champion, has spoken out about the fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Umar Nurmagomedov.
"I don't like to be at a disadvantage when something has to be done blindly on short notice. Let's be honest - it's a title fight and it's scheduled six weeks in advance. I understand there's a need for that when you're a contender, but as a champion, you shouldn't be in that situation. It's not the right thing to do. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Hopefully, knock on wood, Merab goes out there, does his thing, takes that zero, puts on a great performance and we can move on."
