Famed American referee Herb Dean shared his memories of the fight between former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former two-division titleholder Conor McGregor.

In October 2018, Nurmagomedov finished McGregor in the fourth round, after which the fighters' teams engaged in a massive brawl.

"When it started, Khabib started choking Conor. I asked him to let go, but Khabib kept holding the hold. I was kind of standing between them. After that, Khabib suddenly started talking to someone outside the cage. I tried to keep Nurmagomedov from doing that at first, but then I realized that's not my job. That's someone else's job. My job was done," Dean told Jaxxxon Podcast.
