Joaquin Buckley has issued a response to Kamar Usman, who recently responded ironically to his challenge.
"The funny thing is, it's unclear what line he's talking about - who's in it? The fact is that Usman doesn't even deserve a title fight. Nobody is calling him out, but he still has a big name. His last fight was a year ago against Khamzat Chimaev. Now is the time for him to go out there and at least capitalize. Just because you are a former champion and held the title for a long time doesn't give you the right to come back and say - I will fight for the belt again. You don't factor in previous defeats, so you still have to prove that you deserve a title fight. With my five wins and three finishes in the division, we can sell that. If Kamaru Usman beats me, he can fight for the title."
