UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad is confident that the belt holder in the promotion's lightweight division, Islam Makhachev, will have no problem dealing with challenger Arman Tsarukyan.
"Islam has shown that he is getting better with every fight. He dominated a lot of fights, showed how much of an accomplished MMA fighter he is. Especially in the fight against Dustin Porier. After all, he outpointed Dustin! And everyone said he should use wrestling. In the end, Islam just finished Puryear. I think Islam is too much for Arman. Sure, Tsarukian is a great fighter, but Islam is just several levels better than any guy in the division," Muhammad told Helen Yee Sports.
Makhachev and Tsarukyan are rumored to fight at the UFC's first numbered event in 2025.
