Pereira talked about all the difficulties that plagued him before his fight with Rountree

Alex Pereira, UFC bantamweight champion, commented on his win over Khalil Rountree.

"That was our plan - we knew he was going to get tired, so we let him work in the first two rounds. I had to kick his legs off, slow him down, make him less mobile, and connect my jab. When that worked and he got tired, I started taking him apart. So all in all, it went the way we planned. The fight turned out to be really tough, but only my team knows how hard the training camp was. A month ago I was in Brazil, I had problems with my visa - I went to the consulate every day to see if my passport was ready. When I was finally able to get back to the U.S., I caught a cold, had a sore throat, and had to take antibiotics. Back in Brazil, I re-injured my ribs that I had injured a year before and had to deal with that as well. Shortly before the fight I went on a second course of antibiotics because my throat kept hurting and I re-injured my toe."
