Vera: "If O'Malley had hit Dvalishvili at the start of the fight, things could have gone differently"
Former UFC flyweight title challenger Marlon Vera spoke out about this past weekend's bout between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O'Malley.
Recall, the Georgian fighter defeated the American by unanimous decision in the main event of the UFC 306 tournament in Las Vegas, USA, and became the new champion of the promotion in the division up to 135 pounds.
"I really think that if Shawn had hit Merab at the beginning of the fight, things could have gone differently. Sehudo and Moraes shook Merab, but Sean couldn't hit him. Merab has a knack for spurts, so it's hard to hit him so that he goes down. You have to fight him.

When Conor got up from under Mendes, he was right in front of him every time, and Merab and O'Malley kept distance between him, so that may have disrupted Shawn's rhythm. And Merab could have just kept walloping him and walloping him. But it was a great fight, congratulations to the new champion," Vera said on his YouTube channel.
