AKA Hall of Famer Javier Mendes doubts that his charge Islam Makhachev will make the next defense of his UFC lightweight title this year.
"I'm waiting for Islam to heal. I don't think his arm has recovered yet. As far as I know, he's not training right now. That's why I don't think this fight will happen in December. It's possible, but I don't see it happening.
It's more likely to take place in January or February. But I don't think it will be in December, the hand has not yet recovered," said Mendes.
