Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has spoken out about the promotion's attempts to destroy any mention of former heavyweight division titleholder Francis Ngannou.
"You can't erase Francis' footprint in the UFC. He's part of history. His path in the UFC is already carved in stone. So you can't just paint over his legacy or not talk about him. Yes, he's now competing in the PFL, but that doesn't change anything. You can't turn a blind eye to him. I'm sure this mistake will be corrected eventually. He's an integral part of UFC history. I know there is some competition between promotions. But at the end of the day, his legacy and career can't just be erased. The streets and the internet will always remember it," MMA Fighting quoted Adesanya as saying.
It will be recalled that Adesanya will fight reigning champion Dricus Du Plessis in a title fight on the night of August 18 in Perth, Australia. The fight will headline the UFC 305 event in Perth, Australia.
