Sandhagen: "My plan is to beat Nurmagomedov in both standup and grappling"

Top American UFC lightweight fighter Corey Sandhagen has spoken out about his upcoming fight with Umar Nurmagomedov.

Their fight will be the main event of UFC on ABC 7, which takes place Aug. 3 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

"People don't know how to approach Umar's style and find mistakes from him. But I've been training for many years and I have an understanding of what the key is to his way of working. It's clear and obvious to me what works in a fight with him and what doesn't. After Sterling knocked me out, I had to bust my ass to improve my wrestling skills. It's not a situation where I have to fight a wrestler and I practiced wrestling for 12 weeks specifically for that. I've had to prepare for this challenge for years. My plan is to beat Umar in both stand-up and grappling," stated Sandhagen on the Pound 4 Pound with Kamaru & Henry podcast.
