Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman believes another former titleholder Leon Edwards should try his hand at a heavier category.
On July 27 at UFC 304 in Manchester, United Kingdom, Edwards lost on points to Belal Muhammad and lost his belt in the 77-pound division.
"I'm wondering how Leon will rebuild after this. How he's going to get back to welterweight, if he does get back. I know before this fight he was talking about moving up to middleweight, and he's a guy I'd like to see in the middleweight division if he can get the proper size.
He and his style would work well at middleweight. I think he should move up to the middleweight division because there aren't a lot of middleweights that have the level of grapplers like me, like Belal, and some of the other guys in our division. I wouldn't mind seeing Leon at middleweight," Usman stated on his podcast.
