Pereira knocked out Prochazka thanks to the Czech's warm-up video

UFC bantamweight champion Alex Pereira revealed why he decided to punch the high kick he used to knock out Jiri Prohazka.

"No, the hi-kick was not part of the plan for the fight. During the warm-up in the locker room, my trainer Plinio Cruz showed a video of Jiri warming up. We saw him trying to use one combination to counter with a low-kick to the calf, and we noticed that his timing in this workout was wrong. He was overly focused on not missing the low-kick, so he kept his hands quite low and thus his head was left unprotected. That's when I realized I should use the high kick," Bloody Elbow quoted Pereira as saying.
