Former UFC two weight class champion Conor McGregor says he made the decision to withdraw from his fight against Michael Chandler for the sake of his fans.

The Irishman and the American were scheduled to fight on June 29 at UFC 303 in Las Vegas, USA, but Conor pulled out due to a fractured pinky toe.

"How would I justify going into the fight if I didn't move well in the octagon, was immobile? I would say: "Yeah, I lost this fight, but I went in the octagon for you guys?"? No way! I'm not doing it again. If the fans are paying that much money, they deserve to see the best version of me. And they will," McGregor was quoted as saying by Severe MMA.
