One of the reasons why Khamzat Chimaev withdrew from his fight against former UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker has been revealed. Today, a representative of Khamzat's team reported that the fighter may have been poisoned.
"One of the options being considered is poisoning. But that will require a diagnosis," the source said.
The bout between Chimaev and Whittaker was supposed to headline the UFC's inaugural event in Saudi Arabia, which takes place June 22. As a result, Ikram Aliskerov will take the fight with Whittaker instead of Chimaev.
