Sonnen: "I want to beat Silva to change my life"

Retired American mixed martial arts veteran Chel Sonnen has spoken out about the significance of his upcoming boxing bout against famed former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

Sonnen and Silva will fight on June 15 in the latter's home country of Sao Paulo, Brazil.

"I'm going to come out for the fight. I want to get a victory to change my life. Otherwise, I'll spend the rest of my days regretting that my career didn't work out.

Rule number one, we hurt each other. I know people like to be friendly and say we made up. They like to use the word respect, and I'm going to stick to it, it seems like the gentlemanly thing to do. But I'm going to do damage to him. I'm going to give it my best shot. He could have picked any opponent he wanted, but I guess he still wants to do damage to me," Sonnen said on The Good Guy & Bad Guy.

To recap, Silva and Sonnen have met twice in the UFC. In 2010, Anderson won by painful submission and two years later by technical knockout.
