Muhammad: "I will never fight Makhachev"

Top UFC American welterweight Belal Muhammad has stated that he will not agree to a fight with lightweight division titleholder Islam Makhachev under any circumstances.

"I will never fight Makhachev, 100%. Honestly, let Islam go straight up to middleweight and fight Dricus Du Plessis. I think it will be good. Makhachev will beat Du Plessis and become a double champion.

Let Islam skip welterweight for a while, let me beat a couple young guys. And then I'll move up to middleweight myself," Muhammad said on The MMA Hour show.

Makhachev will defend his belt against Dustin Porier in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, USA, on June 2.
