UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev reacted to Dustin Puryear's comments that he may hang up his gloves after their upcoming fight.
"He's talking about retiring. But I don't want him to end his career after this fight when I beat him. Because this guy is very dangerous, he can beat anybody. He's one of the top five fighters in the world. I don't think it's a good idea to talk about ending his career. He is still very dangerous, I am diligently preparing for our fight," Makhachev said in an interview with NBC Sports.
Recall that Makhachev and Puryear will fight on June 1 at UFC 302 in Newark, USA.
