Porier advocated for the inclusion of MMA in the Olympic program

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Porier is proposing that mixed martial arts be added to the list of Olympic sports.

"When I was an amateur in 2006-2007, the sport was still so young. When I was fighting as an amateur, talk of MMA being in the Olympics hadn't really crossed my mind yet. So I never really dwelled on it.

But now that I've been pro for a long time, now that the sport is growing, I hear people talking about it. I think for young guys who are still amateurs and chasing their dreams to represent the United States on the world stage would be incredible," - quotes the American Fox News Digital.

Recall that on the night of June 2 in the main event of UFC 302 in Newark, USA, Puryear will hold a title fight against Islam Makhachev.
