Cruz thinks he would have been a nightmare for Aldo

Dominick Cruz, the former UFC lightweight champion, believes he could be a worthy competitor to the promotion's former featherweight champion Jose Aldo right now.

"I heard Aldo say that he was offered a fight with me, but he wanted someone from the top 5. Jonathan Martinez from the top 5? And then, why would he want to be in the top 5 if he's not going to fight for the title? Maybe he wanted to guarantee himself a win and become a free agent after winning instead of facing me, which would have been a nightmare," Cruz said on the Anik & Florian podcast.

Recall that in his last fight, Aldo won a judges' decision over Jonathan Martinez.
