American mixed martial arts titlist Daniel Cormier criticized UFC featherweight champion Elijah Topuria for not wanting to fight the top fighters in his division.
"Topuria became the champion and the champion has the right to say he's going to fight so-and-so, but I'm not sure Elijah has as much right as he thinks he does. He can say, "I'll fight Max on this date," but what he's doing now doesn't seem right.
He's turning down all fights in a row without having a clear idea of who he's going to fight. It's weird. He has no idea what's going to happen next, but at the same time he's turning down things that could happen now," Cormier said on his YouTube channel.
Recall that Topuria won the title in February at UFC 298 by knocking out Alexander Volkanovski.
