Holly Holm, former UFC champion, reacted to the advice of the organization's president, Dana White, to end her career following her loss to Kayla Harrison at UFC 300 Anniversary.
"Things have not gone the way I envisioned for the last 10 weeks of this training camp. I have no excuses. I got the best coach, the best teammates, the best sparring - all the help I could ever dream of. I stepped into the octagon and lost all focus on the fight plan. I didn't do any of the things we prepared for. And all my respect to Kayla. She was better as a fighter. I just know I'm capable of more. I'm one of those people who likes to reflect on myself rather than run away from things. I think being honest with yourself can sometimes be the hardest thing to do. I am healthy, but my heart hurts. My ego hurts. But I just wanted to say thank you to all the fans that were there for me, and of course my team. My coaches. To my family and my friends. I appreciate you guys and I'll be back."
