UFC heavyweight division No. 7-ranked Brazilian Jailton Almeida will fight No. 13-ranked Moldovan Alexandru Romanov at UFC 302, scheduled for June 1 in Newark, N.J., USA.
Almeida was originally scheduled to face Alexander Volkov. However, UFC CEO Dana White later announced that Volkov was instead scheduled to fight Sergey Pavlovich at the organization's debut show in Saudi Arabia on June 22 in Riyadh.
Almeida, 32, will try to get his career back on track after losing by knockout to Curtis Blades at UFC 299 in March. Prior to that, the Brazilian was riding an impressive streak of 15 straight wins.
Romanov, 33, hasn't appeared in the octagon since last July, when he defeated Blagoy Ivanov by unanimous decision.
