The heavyweight rivalry between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk may not be finished after all. Both fighters posted social media videos this week pointing toward a potential third meeting, with Turki Alalshikh amplifying the buzz by reposting the clips and giving fresh life to trilogy talk.
The latest round of speculation started with Fury, who said he wants Usyk again after a win over Anthony Joshua, naming London, Las Vegas, and New York as possible sites. Usyk quickly played along, responding that he is ready for the fight in New York, Vegas, or Saudi Arabia and leaning into the familiar back-and-forth that has helped keep this matchup in the spotlight.
That angle matters because Usyk has already beaten Fury twice, leaving the British star with plenty to prove if a third bout is ever made. For Usyk, a trilogy would be a chance to remove any lingering debate and further cement his standing as the defining heavyweight of this era. For Fury, it would be about restoring his place at the top of the division after coming up short in both previous meetings.
From an American boxing perspective, a third fight would still carry major intrigue, especially if it lands in Las Vegas or New York. U.S. fans have long gravitated toward heavyweight rivalries with real history, and this one now has the ingredients promoters want: elite names, unfinished business, and a clear narrative built around revenge versus legacy.
Usyk is scheduled to return on May 23 against kickboxer Rico Verhoeven. Fury, meanwhile, is lined up to face Anthony Joshua in October and is also expected to take another bout this summer against an opponent who has not yet been announced.
If both men keep winning, the trilogy chatter will only get louder — and the next few months should determine whether this tease becomes boxing’s next blockbuster.
