A third Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury fight is not off the table, but Usyk says it would take a staggering number to make it happen. Speaking with reporters, the unified heavyweight champion said Fury would need to come up with $1 billion to secure a trilogy bout.

“Listen, greedy belly, give me a billion dollars and you’ll get a trilogy,” Usyk said.

That comment lands with extra weight because Usyk is already 2-0 against Fury in the ring, having beaten the British star by decision in both of their meetings. From a divisional standpoint, that makes the idea of a third fight more about spectacle and business than competitive necessity. For American fans, the intrigue is obvious: Fury remains one of boxing’s biggest attractions, but Usyk has been the more precise, disciplined fighter when they’ve shared the ring.

The bigger question is what Usyk does next and what the heavyweight picture looks like if Fury is not immediately back in line. A third fight could still draw massive global interest, but it would need a promotional angle beyond unfinished business, because Usyk has already answered the central question twice. That is why his public asking price feels less like negotiation and more like a challenge.

Usyk is currently scheduled to return to the ring on May 23 against Rico Verhoeven. That matchup will be watched closely, not just because of Usyk’s status at the top of the division, but because every appearance now shapes whether boxing gets another blockbuster with Fury or a different path entirely. The next performance should tell a lot about how serious any trilogy talk really is.
