The star Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven has chosen a specialist to prepare for the upcoming battle with the unified world heavyweight boxing champion from Ukraine, Oleksandr Usyk.
According to The Ring, the role of mentor will be taken by Peter Fury, the uncle and former trainer of the famous boxer Tyson Fury.
This is not the first collaboration between Verhoeven and Fury: they previously worked together during the Dutchman's performances in the Glory organization.
It is worth noting that Peter Fury stood in his nephew Tyson's corner during his triumphant victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015, when the Briton won titles by points in a sensational fight.
Recall, the fight between Usyk and Verhoeven is scheduled for May 23 and will take place in a historic location—Egypt's Giza.
