Star Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven has chosen a specialist to prepare for the upcoming battle with the undisputed world boxing heavyweight champion, Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk.
According to The Ring, Peter Fury, the uncle and former trainer of well-known boxer Tyson Fury, will take on the role of mentor.
This is not the first collaboration between Verhoeven and Fury: they previously worked together during the Dutchman's time in the Glory organization.
It is worth noting that Peter Fury was in his nephew Tyson's corner during his triumphant victory over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015 when the Briton won the titles on points in a sensational match.
Recall that the fight between Usyk and Verhoeven is scheduled for May 23 and will take place in a historic location—Egyptian Giza.
