On May 23, at the historic location near the pyramids of Giza in Egypt, a unique crossover fight will take place between the Ukrainian unified world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk and the legendary Dutch kickboxer Rico Verhoeven, a longtime dominator of Glory in the heavyweight division.

The World Boxing Council has granted this event the status of a special organization event, but a full-fledged WBC heavyweight title will not be at stake.

An exclusive ceremonial belt will be created for this fight, the design of which is inspired by the architecture of the ancient Egyptian pyramids, emphasizing the symbolism and scale of the event.

Mauricio Sulaiman highlighted the full support of the project by the WBC, noting the successful precedent with Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou's fight, which also took place under the organization's auspices and demonstrated a high level of competition.

The head of the organization expressed deep respect for Rico Verhoeven's achievements in the world of kickboxing and confirmed that, at the moment, there has been no request for the defense of the regular title—the focus is on creating a spectacular special event involving the current WBC champion.
